Carmen holds a Master Degree of Business Administration majoring in Human Resources Management and is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).
Carmen has an extensive background in the Health Care sector as a seasoned senior Human Resources professional advising CEOs, Executive Directors and Senior Executives in human resources policy, programs and organization structures, often building the human resources function and streamlining processes and introducing automation (e.g., health records, attendance management, payroll). This experience spans women’s shelters, mental health, long-term care and senior living organizations as well as other not-for-profit organizations. Carmen is a business starter, able to assist organizations in establishing and/or maturing their HR infrastructure.
Other successes as an HR Consultant include talent management, labour relations, workplace wellness, performance management, health and safety, managing group benefits, HR information systems in a number of organizations as well as gaining extensive wage harmonization experience in the library sector during the amalgamation of seven municipal library boards into one Toronto Public Library system.
Carmen is passionate about promoting diversity and equity in the workplace and providing advocacy to organizations that require HR advice. She also volunteers her time and talent to mentor immigrants and new Canadians as well as women in need and actively leads a community women’s group.
